Dave's right. I love what Bug Labs is doing. Or says it's doing: BUG is intended to bring to the world of hardware gadgets what the Internet, open source, XML and web services have brought to the world of software and media. "Intended" is the weasel word in there. But I suppose taking it out would risk the appearance of grandiosity. In any case, it's the right thing, long past the right time. Dave again: So maybe Bug will be a prototyping environment for more polished mobile devices, like future iPhones. As a user and a developer my creativity has been locked out of the mobile market because I don't have the requisite hardware skills. Podcasting is one art that would be further along if we had access to the design tools that designers at consumer electronics companies have. There certainly are others. Imagine the mobile devices doctors would create. Building contractors. Bus drivers. Musicians. Writers. Librarians. Yessss.
